La inocencia robada: Juventud, multinacionales y política cultural

Henry A. GIROUX reveals how the corporate culture is invading the lives of girls and boys, trying to "steal their innocence" to put to the market quickly, turning them into consumers. It examines three major myths dominant in our society: 1) that the triumph of democracy and the liberal culture is related to the triumph of the market, 2) that both the child as his feature "innocence" reflect aspects of a natural state, and not affect them the history, society, power and politics, 3) that teaching and learning are no longer linked to improving the world, thus assuming fatalism that conceals the culture of professionalism.However, it also examines the works of Antonio GRAMSCI, Paulo Freire and Stuart Hall to review their lessons on how to promote education and cultural environment more realistic and healthy for children.
